Ministry of Manpower Develops 400 Productive Migrant Villages

JBN.CO.ID ■ The Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) cooperates with various ministries / institutions to make breakthrough efforts in empowering, improving services and providing protection for Indonesian Migrant Worker Candidates (CPMI) in villages that are pockets of Indonesian Migrant Workers by developing Productive Migrant Villages (Desmigratif).

"The Desigigative Program is intended to create a productive community in the region of origin of migrant workers who understand the placement and protection of workers," Secretary General of the Ministry of Manpower, Khairul Anwar, said at the Thematic Bakohumas event, at The Alana Hotel, Solo, Central Java, Wednesday (Wednesday) 7/8).

According to Khairul, the program was implemented with the aim of:

1. serving the process of placing and protecting prospective workers who will work, both at home and abroad, starting from the PMI home village;
2. empower PMI and their families;
3. encourage the active role of the Village Government from the PMI region and all stakeholders; and
4. reduce the number of non-procedural workers.

"The Ministry of Manpower has a target of establishing and facilitating the development of Desmigratif in 400 villages in 3 (three) years," Khairul said.

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Manpower revealed that in 2016 Desmigratif pilot projects had been formed in 2 (two) locations namely Kenanga Village, Sindang District, Indramayu Regency, West Java and Kuripan Village, Watu Malang District, Wonosobo Regency, Central Java.

In 2017, continued the Secretary General of the Ministry of Manpower, Desmigratif was developed in 120 villages. While in 2018 there are 130 Decimigratives, and in 2019 there are 150 Decmigratives.

"We are working with all stakeholders in the implementation of Decimigratif, namely ministries / institutions, provincial governments, district / city governments, village governments, private parties, universities, local partners or village community communities, and financial institutions," explained Khairul.

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Manpower emphasized that the formation of Decimigative was one of the solutions and forms of concern and the presence of the state in an effort to improve protection services for CPMI / PMI, and their coordinated and integrated family members.
