MUI: Jember Fashion Carnaval 2019 violates religious norms

MUI: Jember Fashion Carnaval 2019 violates religious norms

JBN.CO.ID ■ MUI Secretary of East Java Province Muhammad Yunus, deplored the 2019 Jember Fashion Carnaval (JFC) international event, which on August 4, 2019 was considered to violate the norms of decency and religion by presenting disgraceful and dirty performances.

Especially the sexy appearance of the artist Cinta Laura and many other models at JFC 2019 in a vulgar way. In this activity the film star The Ninth Passenger was wearing inappropriate clothes, which were considered to injure the City of Jember as the City of Santri.

"MUI (East Java) and MUI in Jember deeply regretted why a performance appeared that violated the rules, violated ethics and social norms. This was not in accordance with the habits of the people of Jember Regency, the majority were Muslim," Yunus said, Friday (9/8) .

Yunus stressed, it is necessary to make regulations, both regional regulations (Perda) and regent regulations (Perbup) as a reference for the implementation of similar activities in the future.

The principle, he explained, needs to be maintained in harmony so that cultural arts activities do not clash with local wisdom, let alone violate religious rules.

"The committee claimed to feel cheated because the artists and models from outside did not deliver the clothes to be used at the event and eventually caused unrest in the community," he said.

Yunus said, the MUI had gathered all relevant stakeholders, including local governments, scholars, community leaders and organizers to deal with this problem properly. Including the government and event organizers to take responsibility for making apologies to the public for their negligence.

"They also have to promise and guarantee not to repeat in the future and make regulations that can be used as a reference for the implementation of similar activities in the future," he said.

Previously, the program was rejected by the East Java Islamic Defenders Front (FPI). They refused and considered this activity to violate the norms of decency and religion.

Indonesia Hosts 2020 Global Philately Competition

JBN.CO.ID ■ Indonesia will officially host the world philately competition or the 2020 World Stamps Championship and Exhibition.

Chairperson of the Indonesian Philatelic Association (PFI) Fadli Zon signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of the World Stamp Championship and Exhibition, with the Federation Internationale de Philatelie (FIP) at the Suntec Convention Center, Singapore, Saturday 3 August 2019.

"This will be the first Philatelic Exhibition in Indonesia held at the Indonesian Parliament Building. Not only that, this event will also coincide with the momentum of the 75th Indonesian Independence Day, namely on 6-11 August 2020, "said Fadli Zon in his written statement, Sunday morning, August 4, 2019.

Fadli said, the moment of signing the memorandum of understanding was witnessed by FIP President Bernard Beston, DPR RI Secretary General Indra Iskandar, and philately associations president from a number of countries, such as Australia, Japan, South Korea, Qatar, and Peru.

"The 2020 philatelic exhibition and competition will be the largest exhibition in Indonesia. Because, there are 3000 frames will be competed from more than 60 countries. And those are the best collection of philatelists in the world, "said Fadli.

The Deputy Speaker of the DPR said that the election of Indonesia to host the 2020 World Stamp Championship was a matter of mutual pride. Because, this big event will be supported by a number of parties such as the Ministry of Communication and Information, PT Pos Indonesia, the Indonesian Parliament, and of course the DKI Jakarta Regional Government, as the host city.

"For Indonesia, this will be the seventh opportunity as a host. The first time was in 1993 in Surabaya, 1995 in Jakarta, 1996 in Bandung, 2008 and 2012 in Jakarta, and 2017 in Bandung, "said Fadli.

PFI, said Fadli, seeing that this international exhibition will also have a positive impact on the literacy of public literature. In fact, philately has a very close relationship with the struggle for independence. "

Fadli explained, in the independence period, stamps and other philatelic items were used to promote Indonesia's independence to the world.

At that time, Indonesian painters took part in the struggle to propagate independence through posters, murals, graffiti and stamp paintings to inflame the spirit of anti-colonialism.

"So, stamps in Indonesia are historical artifacts of the struggle for independence. Not just a communication tool. Stamps are a witness to the history of the tenacity of the Indonesian people in seizing independence, "said Fadli.

Indeed, said Hamdan, the modern international boarding school Dea Malela Sumbawa is still relatively new and not yet familiar to us.

"This pesantren has only been built for 4 years with buildings and classrooms, male and female dormitories, ustadz houses, mosques, soccer fields and various other facilities," he said.

Santri here, explained Hamdan, apart from Sumbawa, also from regions throughout Indonesia, even foreign countries.

As is known, this boarding school was established by the Former Chairman of Muhammadiyah who is now the Head of the Central MUI Advisory Council, Din Syamsuddin.

What's interesting about this Islamic boarding school, added Hamdan, with its location far from the noise of the capital, was between the mountains in Lanangguar Village, Sumbawa Regency, NTB province.

This is what makes the place unique. In addition, the boarding school focuses on forming superior santri characters.

"Willing to produce superior Santri from various aspects to build civilization. This is a very extraordinary idea of its founder from Prof. Din Syamsuddin," Hamdan added when accompanying Vice President Jusuf Kalla, today.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of an entrepreneurship training center building was also attended by the Governor of NTB, Zulkiflimansyah, the Udayana Military Commander, Maj. Gen. Benny Susianto, the Minister of Industry, Saleh Husin, Din Syamsuddin, and others.
